As we all know that Dubai which is one of the world’s most visited destinations has made the announcement that it is reopening for tourists from the 7th of July,2020.
If you are visiting Dubai for the first time you must be looking for a lot of information about the city such as things to do, best places to visit, and most importantly where to stay in Dubai.
In this blog post, I have shared list of 5 best areas to stay in Dubai, with a reason when and why to choose these areas based on different factors.
Before going ahead with your question “Where to stay in Dubai”? Let’s find out which are the best areas in Dubai for tourists as it will make choosing stay for you easy.
1. Downtown Dubai
This area is the heart of the city because of various reasons such as popular attraction like Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Dubai Fountain, Souk Al Bahar, Dubai Opera, luxurious shops, fine dining, shopping, and more.
It is considered as one of the most expensive area in the city but there are affordable accommodation too in-case you want to stay here.
I would recommend you to book your stay in Downtown if and only if you are planning to visit Burj Khalifa and all the nearby attractions with no budget issue as it will save a lot of time and money on travelling.
And, if you are on a budget and wants to stay near beach then I would recommend go to Marina.
Tip: If you are visiting the Top of Burj Khalifa, I would recommend you to buy your tickets in advance to skip long lines and get a discount. You can also check out my blog on Burj Khalifa Tickets to know more.

2. Bur Dubai
This area is in old Dubai located on the western side of the Dubai Creek. It is well-known for tourist places such as historic buildings, museums, mosques, shopping streets, souqs, and the country’s only Hindu temple.
If you want to experience traditional culture and low on budget then this is the perfect place for you as Bur Dubai offers accommodation and Indian restaurant at the cheapest price in Dubai.
Not good if: There are no nice bars and, besides very local restaurants, they aren’t really fine-dining options. It is also far away from famous the extravagant Dubai monuments.
3. Dubai Marina
If you don’t know let me tell you that this is a man-made marina in Dubai which is full of high-rise building all over the district.
It is considered as one of the best places to enjoy nightlife and dining. You can do lots of activities here such as go on a Dhow Cruise Dinner, Yacht Party, Jet Skiing, Skydiving, Parasailing, and more.
The marina looks mind-blowing after sunset as the view from the hotels facing sea views and skyline is beyond belief.
If you have no budget issue then this is one of the most happening places for you in Dubai with amazing hotels and a lot of fun activities to do. Apart from this, it is well connected to the Dubai Metro which makes travelling easy.
However, Dubai Marina is far from location like Burj Khalifa, Deira and Old Dubai.
4. The Palm Jumeirah
If you want to stay in a luxury hotel and resorts then you should visit Palm Jumeirah.
The Palm Jumeirah is home to most luxurious resorts in Dubai such as Atlantis the Palm, the One&Only, FIVE Palm Jumeirah Resort, Anantara The Palm, Sofitel Dubai The Palm, W Dubai – The Palm and more.
This place is paradise for beach lovers with unlimited leisure and recreation activities. For a hotel and resort with sea views, this is most likely the best place to stay in Dubai.
For staying at the Palm you need a car to travel from the resort to other places like Dubai Downtown, Jumeirah Beach or Dubai Marina.
However, if you love beaches and sea views and don’t mind staying away from the city then this is the best place for you.
5. Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR)
JBR is famous for beaches, outdoor activities, and food & restaurants as it is located against the Persian Gulf in Dubai Marina.
This is the best location for you if you plan to do some outdoor and fun activities. Apart from this, there is less restriction as compared to other places in Dubai in terms of dressing, that is the reason you will see most of European expats in JBR.
This is not a good option for you if shopping is on your mind even though the area has shopping destination like Mall of the Emirates.
I know this area is one on the most expensive area in Dubai still you can find some budget options for your stay. During your free time you can go for a stroll at places like the walk, or the beach.
