A Stay at Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek Hotel – Dubai’s first 5* hotel and still winning awards

In this blog, we are going to share our experience and review of Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek hotel.

The United Arab Emirates is a travel hub for tourists from all over the world and is gradually becoming the World’s Number #1 Travel Destination for that dream holiday, that has absolutely everything!

Dubai’s cityscape is ever-changing on a daily basis with its constant urge to construct bigger and better than ever before. If there was a Palm Island, Nakheel thought of the World Island. Burj Al Arab was eclipsed when Burj Khalifa cropped up and took over the Dubai skyline.

Dubai constantly competes with itself and other global cities, trying to magnetize tourists to a dream-like world of attractions, adventure and wonder.

This drive is clearly visible in its landmarks, shopping centres, beaches, parks and hotels. Although it strictly safeguards its traditional Islamic roots, it allows space for other religions, a rare quality in the conservative Arab world.

Dubai has emerged as a cosmopolitan metropolis that has grown steadily to become a global business and cultural hub.

A first-time visitor to Dubai might get overwhelmed with the exciting attractions, activities, shopping and nightlife.

We recently stayed and explored a hotel that we had previously visited due to its award-winning restaurants and great location. Now it’s time to stay and see what other delights they have in-store for us!

A little breakdown of the Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek Hotel

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek is located on the Creek that is the lifeline through the city. With its Creek side placement, it is a perfect spot for the dreamy sunsets that rain down on Dubai on a daily basis.

Sunset view from Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek Hotel

The hotel was the original 5-star hotel in Dubai and has long since been a mainstay for the royalty and Dubai originals from back when it was built in 1975.

With its award-winning restaurants throughout the hotel, there is never an opportunity to be hungry. Each restaurant has strategically placed their awards at their entrances and you really understand just how incredible they are, when that first taste hits the back of your mouth!

The hotel has 288 rooms, a rooftop Creek facing pool, Health Club & Spa, 16restaurants/bars and has plenty of things to do around the hotel e.g.Visit the Souks, Ride an Abra, Hit the malls, Explore Al Seef, Enjoy Dubai Creek Golf Club and so much more.

The rooms have a few different offerings; you choose the one most to your liking and then get a booking for the very best stay in Dubai.

We stayed in the Grand Suite room with Creek view, which was perched above the Creek with a birdseye view of both the Creek and the Dubai skyline. Our room was in prime position for the sunrise to rise at our left balcony and set on our right balcony.

Rooms feature balconies, Wi-Fi, flat screens, minibars, tea and coffeemakers. Suites add separate living areas; some have kitchenettes. Room service is also available to allow you to fully enjoy your room and have food on your balcony.

Presiding over Deira Creek, the Radisson Blu Hotel welcomes you to the UAE’s most populous city.

Built-in 1975, the accommodation is a classic fixture of Old Dubai, an area known for traditional markets and abundant shopping destinations.

Enjoy convenient access to culturally rich sites such as the Spice Market as well as the exciting Deira City Centre Shopping Mall and after a full day of exploring, retreat to one of 288 thoughtfully appointed rooms and suites.

Our stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek

We were invited to stay at ‘Dubai’s first-ever 5* resort’. This landmark demonstrates just how important this hotel has been to the Dubai landscape and how it has lasted the length of time, purely from being one of the best hotels in the city.

Our room was the ‘Grand Suite Room’ with Creek views from each of the 4 balconies, I know crazy right!

Our Arrival

We arrived at the hotel and utilised the extremely friendly valet staff at the entrance to help us valet our car to taking our luggage to our room for us.

We usually carry our own belongings but they were insistent on helping us. From our meeting with the valet staff to checking in with the helpful staff on the reception, we both felt very welcomed and this was a great start to our stay.

With a short journey from the reception to our room, which we were guided by one of the reception team. We were instantly blown away upon our entrance to the room that we were staying in!

The Grand Suite room was ENORMOUS! We were extremely impressed by the layout, the size and the views, even from the 4 different balconies. We had never stayed in a room that was as big as this.

We have stayed in many hotels around the UAE and the world, but the Radisson Blu Hotel had thought of every detail to make the guests feel welcomed and comfortable.

As we had driven to the hotel straight from work, we were both extremely hungry and once that front door was opened, our noses and eyes were drawn straight to the bowl of handmade white chocolate that was coated with milk chocolate and fruit. They must have read our minds and it was such a beautiful touch by them.

They had literally thought of everything!

Our Grand Suite Room Creek Views

With us visiting the hotel on multiple occasions before for their world-famous restaurants.

We had already spoken to staff about the best rooms to stay in and all the extra little bits. We managed to get the room that they had all recommended and to say they were spot on, would be an understatement.

Beautiful view from Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek hotel

The views out of our room were incredible and even had me getting up early both mornings and just sitting on one of our balconies with a coffee in one hand and a whole lot of peacefulness.

When we stay again, which hopefully won’t be too long, we will be staying in this part of the hotel again.

A few little bits that our room had:

  • Kitchenette
  • 2 bathrooms
  • 4 balconies
  • 8 person dining table
  • Coffee machine

All so much but really made our stay the BEST!

Local Area to the hotel

The Radisson Blue Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek is located on the creek with a short walk to the traditional souks such as the Gold souk & Spice markets, a few minutes drive from the Burj Khalifa, shopping malls, Financial District and the Dubai Frame.

The hotel provides maps of the local area and you could go out most evenings and new things would be on every corner, there is so much history steeped around this part of Dubai.

There are so many small food outlets dotted along the Creek, or you could even venture across the Creek on one of the many abras that cost less than a coffee.

The Al Seef area is on the opposite side of the Creek and it comes alive from 6 pm after sunset, with so much going on. This area is also our favourite part of Dubai!

Restaurants in Radisson Blu Dubai Hotel

Before and during our stay at this fantastic hotel, we managed to try the majority of restaurants that are housed in the hotel. Here is a debrief on how we got on with the incredible food that is on offer at the Radisson Blu Hotel.

On Thursday evening, we headed to @fishmarketdxb and our favourite seafood restaurant in Dubai!

At the restaurant’s interactive market, guests can choose the freshest catch of the day, and the chef cooks it as you like it!

We had the best in the business of waitresses in Lorna, she could answer all of our questions and made us feel very welcome and full throughout. With us having the full board booking for our stay, we quite literally tried more than our stomachs could handle.

Here are a few photos of what we had:

As you could imagine from reading all of that list, we were extremely full and completely satisfied with the quality of the food and drinks.

We can completely understand why this is voted in the top 70 restaurants in Dubai on Tripadvisor when there are over 8,100 restaurants.

About Fish Market Dubai Restaurant

The Fish Market has unlimited seafood dishes every day of the week! It offers a weekday deal and a Friday seafood brunch package.

They also have The Fish Market Friday Brunch, where diners can indulge, not only in unlimited seafood dishes, but also get access to Radisson Blu hotel’s famous superhero-themed SuperBrunch, where over 200 dishes are served from different parts of the world.

The brunch prices are AED 299 per person including soft drinks and AED 399 per person including house beverages.

The restaurant also runs last-minute deals on their Instagram page @FishMarketDXB, such as Buy 1 Get 1 Free on the brunch or discounted offers.

Breakfast with a Dubai Creek view

We had been told by staff that a breakfast being brought via room service was exactly the way that we should enjoy and you can guess what we did, we took advantage and ordered all our favourite little bits.

With having breakfast over two days in our suite, we had to have it both outside on the balcony and on our HUGE banquet table. Both areas were amazing and made sure that we started our days so well!

Our waiter Shaid was the man that set up our breakfasts and he really is the best in the business. He made sure that we had everything that we needed and more.

Breakfast on banquet table

China Club Restaurant

Friday evening was a new restaurant to try!

We had heard great things about China Club and we both absolutely love our Chinese food, so where better to spend our evening. #thechinaclub🇨🇳🍜

We were the first people in the restaurant but it soon started filling up, which meant we had to start getting our orders in before everyone else.

The food has to be up there with one of the best Chinese restaurants that I have ever been to. Every dish that we ordered was tastebud tingling and mouth-watering.

We chose the Indo-Chinese Hakka Set menu and every dish was really good! We especially enjoyed the Honey chilli potatoes, Famous chilli chicken, Kung Pao chicken and the Honey noodles for dessert, which I had never had before today.

Here are some photos of our restaurant:

Thank you to Maribel for being so accommodating, friendly and courteous throughout our meal!

I highly recommend that you book a table at all the restaurants, just to make sure that you secure the table that you want.

Time to get to places (Minutes to drive)

  • Dubai (DXB) Airport – 16 minutes
  • Downtown Dubai – 16 minutes
  • Al Maktoum International– 47 minutes
  • EXPO site – 42 minutes
  • Dubai Marina – 29 minutes

Taxis are plentiful but if you are going to be making longer trips on multiple occasions, then maybe a hire car would be best.

If you are really looking for the perfect stay, with world-class facilities and amenities that are plentiful, then both Anya and I (Patrick) highly recommend booking a stay at Radisson Blu Dubai Deira Creek hotel.

Radisson Blu Dubai Hotel Health and Safety

All Radisson hotels have cleanliness and sanitization measures in place to ensure the health, safety, and security of all their guests. We felt extremely happy that our safety was taken care of at every moment.

Our room had a safety protocol banner hanging on our door handle, it read: ‘This room has been carefully cleaned and disinfected according to our 20 step protocol.

If you want to learn more about the exact regimes that they utilize, then this is the read for you: https://www.radissonhotels.com/en-us/social-responsibility/health-safety. #radissoncares
